The greatest creations are those that as you create them, you get lost in your thoughts, by the time you're tired of thinking you're holding in your hands, something from deep within...

Lots of new creations! Please take a peek :)

Hi everyone!!!

Wow, time just keeps flying by doesn't it! So much has happened and changed since my last post so lets just start with some new creations to get back into the swing of things :)

This is my newest character WIP. I'm working on his body now :)

I also started a few pieces prior to him....
A bee creature sculpted in papercaly (my first fully sculpted/ painted paperclay piece!) and a new polymer piece based on one of my drawings... which has progressed significantly since this photo but I haven't taken new photos yet ;) Soon!

Some of you may recognize this little guy from an earlier post (http://spritebites-brokenplanet.blogspot.com/2008/03/new-wips.html). I sculpted this little goaticorn/ unigoat years ago 2008 to be exact and he has sat on a shelf since.  In my attempt to finish up some stuff around the studio, I finally gave him a couple washes of paint. He's almost finished and will be in my etsy shoppe once he is :)

This tiny relief sculpture and my little woodland tree sprite pod is currently listed there
http://www.etsy.com/shop/Spritebites

And last but not least, I'll be taking a couple more orders for custom dragon pods and pendants for just a little longer.  Here are a few samples of the one's recently finished and sold....  If you'd like to order one or have questions please let me know or visit my etsy store.  I love making them and would be honored to create one for you!! :)
Well I think that's enough for now I'll be back soon with photos of my finished beach glass dragon, dragon eggs and hopefully a few others!

As always thanks so much for visiting!

Big hugs..

Where I've been & New completed work!

Hi Everyone :)

Over the past few months (while severely neglecting my blog) so much has happened, some good, more than plenty not so good.. But things are looking up so lets focus on that shall we :)

As some of you know last year I was laid off. I decided that after 15 years of commuting to NYC - which is a 3 to 4 hour a day commute- to take it as a sign that I should look locally for a position that would leave me time to focus on things I want to do & enjoy doing.

A position close to home, that would still allow me to afford living, have more creative time, teach and continue to volunteer weekends with animals...Sounds almost impossible doesn't it?  It has been extremely draining, stressful and time consuming but I have been determined. This week it seems to have paid off!  The position I really wanted but couldn't afford to take called to renegotiate again and I finally accepted.  It is 8 minutes from my house!!  I cannot believe it.

Also exciting - I am now teaching at a wonderful local art studio! Children's drawing and painting classes and dragon sculpting!! If you are in the NY, NJ area please visit the SMB Studio Arts website for the schedule &/or just stop by the studio to check out the place and say Hi!! :)  We are holding the Mixed Media Doll Artist Retreat there next month too, please check it out!

I'm also coordinating a meetup group for local mixed media artists (and those wanting to learn) to get together at the studio and just have some creative fun. Please check it out and join me if you can :) http://www.meetup.com/MixedUpMedia/

I've been experimenting and have a tremendous amount of new work started and manged to finish up some older pieces. While de-cluttering my studio - again - I realized I haven't really shared even a third of my work, anywhere!  I'm hoping I will now have more time to share it...

Lets start with him...

He's a stone/ rock collector...

See this old entry here?  I started this piece in 2008!
This poor guy has waited ever so patiently for me to finish him!!

I finally gave him a body and am so happy to see him complete.
Polymer, stones, crystals, recycled materials, acrylics

He kept me company at the art show last weekend at the studio!

The two piece in the front are mine. The shadowbox is an older piece but still a favorite.
The figure behind them is the piece for the upcoming retreat by Sherry Goshon & Jean Bernard.

And these little dragon pods are NEW and in my etsy shoppe - Free shipping! :)

I'm really looking forward to this next chapter and seeing where it takes me.
As always, thank you for visiting and have a super~fantastic day!

Big hugs,

Update! :)

Hi everyone, my apologies for severely neglecting my blog. Thanks for following me and for your support :) I hope you've all been super!

Last week the Animal Rescue I volunteer with Louie's Legacy had a Gala to spread awareness about shelter pets and the ways we can help save them. A lot of fun and for a great cause!

This is the piece I donated which was auctioned off at the event.
Mermaid and Dragon "Kittens"

A relief sculpture sculpted inside a large shell and painted in acrylics.

Aside from this, I've been dabbling in a bit of this and that the past couple months while looking for a new job...drawing, painting, some experimental mixed media canvas's, paper clay sculptures and my latest polymer sculpt which looks like a cross between a fish or bird creature and an elderly woman! :/

Hope to have pictures to share soon, my camera is not cooperating again, think maybe it has something to do with me taking pictures when my hands are covered in plaster and apoxie? Nahhh couldnt be... ;)

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Here are my newest ornaments and sculptures. They're currently in my Etsy shoppe with Free shipping! There you will also find additional photos and details on each piece and its creation... :)

An update! :D

Well hello there! :)

I can't even believe how much time has passed since my last post, so much has happened! Let's catch up quick but mostly start fresh shall we? :)

After a long wait of knowing it was coming, I was laid off. Hoping it's the universes way of putting me on a more creative, happier path. I'm already amazed at how much more I can accomplish without the almost 4 hour a day commute. Here's a sneak peak at some of the random WIPs started just last week.

Go figure, in the middle of sculpting the weird creature head, out comes this cute little mousey sculpt! What the...hee hee :)

Oh! I have some exciting and fun news to share!! I'll be doing a virtual Halloween studio tour in October, created and coordinated by my new friend Karen who I met at the show, she adopted my creature piece! He now lives in Canada and loves it there :)

The tour begins October first and benefits Bat conservation! How cool is that?!
I will have a few pieces available for purchase :)

For more info please visit:
http://www.halloweenstudiotour.com.
If you're an artist interested in participating check out this link

BTW, I(finally) got a new computer, so I'm hoping between that and having more time, I should be able to visit with all of you more often, create more and share pictures more frequently :)

As always, thanks so much for visiting!!
Have a super fantastic and wonderfully creative day :)
