The greatest creations are those that as you create them, you get lost in your thoughts, by the time you're tired of thinking you're holding in your hands, something from deep within...

And so it begins.... UFO/ WIP Challenge!

Hi Everyone :) I hope you have been super!

Two posts in one day! Go me! ha ha ha jk ;)

These past few months have certainly been crazy but I'm hoping now things are getting back on track :) Here's a quick run down or you can scroll to the end to see what's going on creatively.

December 30, I had foot surgery which I have very slowly been recovering from.Wearing those oh so pretty 4 inch heeled boots for the majority of my life to hide the fact that I'm fairly tiny, left me on crutches and unable to walk for far longer than the doctor suggested.

For those of you who may not know me very well... I rarely relax or sit still and when I do I'm usually doing something "productive" while doing it so being down for so long was really getting to me. Talk about frustrating! Thankfully I'm walking again :)

To add to the craziness of things, I lost two uncles just a few months apart. My moms brothers and at the same time, my grandmother, was put in the hospital/ nursing home. Please send some healing energies our way to help mend our hearts and so we can take her home soon :)

On the plus sides, I'm healing. I got a new computer so now hopefully updating the blog will be much easier. I got myself a lil car, a volkswagon golf and its so cute! I should also have up an etsy store pretty soon.

Now, lets get back on the creative track! I'm participating in two challenges. :D

One is for ADO which is Shakespeare themed!

The other came to be through chatting with some friends the other day about unfinished pieces laying around the studio. I am terrible at finishing things especially if I do not have a deadline of some sort so this ought to keep me on my toes :) (Thanks Linda!)

The challenge is to post a photo of your UFO's & WIPS and finish one of them per month and post the finished piece on your blog on the first of the month. If you'd like to join us please let me know, or add it in your comment so we can add you to the blog list :) I think this will be motivating and inspire us to finish some of those poor lil guys who have waited patiently for their turn.

I put together many of my wips last night, these were just the ones I thought I might actually complete someday.

I tried to count them.... I believe there are over 60! Yes, I shamefully admit that you read that sentence correctly. I may have to finish a few per month to keep up with others!

Here is my Table of UFO's/WIPS!

Behind my retreat piece on the left, its hard to see but there
is not one but two large dragons and the start of a tree....

A little closer? Ok!

Right side of the table...
The tall one is for Sherry's Libelle class.

Parts that go with some of those heads :)

Oh my, even inside some of the drawers....

This one is new, she is for my mom :)

How many wips can you spot in this picture? :O
Jk! Stop counting, please! hee hee

For those of you participating in the ADO challenge, Ophelia's is the one with the closed eyes. :)

Heads and dragon babies!
That lil one on the left is only about an inch, he's tiny :)

I usually keep my creative space private, That's probably partly because it's the biggest WIP of them all! Here's one of my tables, this is where I get messy. This is for you Linda!

If you look closely on the shelves, there's a few wips up there, it was easier to show the space then to move that giant dragonfly! Oh, and in case I haven't mentioned it before, I collect toys....you think? ;)

If one were to zoom in on the top shelf they'd find these lil guys hanging out there. The brown thing on the left that's hard to see is the dragonfly WIP (you may have seen his skeleton being built in an earlier entry.)

So close but yet so far from completion...my poor turtle hoonie awww.. soon lil one, soon!

And so it begins... Which should I start with? Any suggestions? :)

Thanks for visiting and please wish me luck, I'll need it!

BIG hugs,
Sprite

One World- One Heart - Blog Giveaway!

Hello everyone :D
If this is your first visit, welcome, it's very nice to meet you!

I've been hoping to jump on the gypsy caravan and join in the super~mega fun
One World-One Heart blog giveaway and low and behold here I am, I made it!

Lisa at A Whimsical Bohemian (http://awhimsicalbohemian.typepad.com)
Started this awesome event in 2007. The idea was to bring bloggers together from around the world who may never ordinarily meet through a blog giveaway! To find out more about this event or jump on the caravan please check it out at:
http://www.oneworldoneheart.typepad.com/

Although not quite finished finished yet, I'm posting now so I don't miss the deadline. I will update/ add pictures after it's completely complete! ;)

My giveaway is......
A baby dragon!
Fresh from the hatchery and he's looking for his new mommy or daddy! He's wrapped all snug in a little leaf and forest floor findings blankie type pod which is closed and sealed with a tiny heart shaped leaf and a few stitches, all of love of course! In keeping with the theme of this event the little guy also has a small heart shaped pillow to rest his head on.

He's sculpted in polymer clay and hand painted, by me. Since he's one of a kind you will be the only one in the world to have anything like it.

I've made the bottom flat so it sits freely (shape reminds me of a cradle) but will also have a ribbon/string so it can be hung if you prefer. Ex: a wall, a holiday tree, an ornament stand. It can even be worn as a pendant if your into ones that are about 2 inches, cuz that's his measurements from point to point. :)

To enter this giveaway you simply leave a comment.
Please be sure it includes your contact info.
You may still enter even if you don't have a blog.

I think I will use the automatic generator number picker thing to select the winner. I will announce it here and if you are the winner and are also a blogger, I will bounce over and leave you a comment afterward letting you know you won. (If you prefer an email please say so and include your email address in your comment.)

If you do not have a blog, pleeeeaase don't forget to leave your email address or some way to contact you in your comment so I can find you! :)

If you've won and receive an email/comment from me please get back to me asap. If I don't hear anything back within a few days of the deadline (which is Feb 12) I'll redraw the name thinking you fell off the planet, which I hope is not the case!

Sound fun? Then, great luck! :)

As always, thank you so much for visiting, I hope you will come again soon.
Have a super~fantastic and wonderful day!

Luv and hugs,
Always,

Holiday Ornaments 2008! :D

Well hello there, thanks for checking in!
I hope you are enjoying the holiday season! :)

Oh my goodness is it Christmas already?! I have been so busy I lost track of time and just realized Christmas was not a week away, but only a few days! The tree has finally gotten its decorations, the house is almost ready for Christmas dinner and the shopping is just about done! But wow, where did that time go!?

I'll tell you where it went! Making holiday ornaments, thats where! :) I got so sucked in that the month just flew by. If I haven't mentioned it before, let me just express to how much I LOVE making ornaments! The fact that they were created for friends made it even more enjoyable and special.

I always set out thinking 'this year I do something simple' but, I have come to realize, I just cannot do simple! I was a little late with sending some of them out but think they forgave me. They seem to be pleased and I know I am thrilled with the ones I received!

First, as promised, a clearer picture of our naughty lil' thing WIP. She's only half sewn & pinned, shhhh I kinda like her that way ;)

She's said she wanted to help me with my ornaments but I think she was just up to some mischief when I wasn't looking.
What do you think?

These are the ornaments I made for my partners....Since theres a lot going on in each view I put in a couple pics of each :) Hope you like them!

Jack Frost - Nipping at your nose!

Escaping with the swift of the wind in the night...leaving only the bitter cold and frost of winter in his path...

burrrrr.....

A little elf caught out in the snow. Standing outside, alone, on a quiet winters night, under the glow of a street lamp.Content and just enjoying the falling snow.

Look what I found? A baby candy cane dragon peeking out of a chilli pepper shaped stitched leaves stocking. How'd that lil guy get in there, anyway!?

Uh oh, he's been munching on all the candy canes again! I bet he's got some fresh breath! Got any mistletoe? ;)

Here, a teeny tiny sleeping mermaid in a kelp blankie, cuddling a coral heart.

She's been about most of the day, swimming and collecting treasures....suddenly, she becomes very very sleepy and slowly drifts into a small sea bed. The kelp begins to wrap itself around her; securing and protecting her and keeping her tiny body warm. Her favorite treasure falls from her clutches, lands and nestles onto her chest.

Cuddling the little coral heart, she falls into a deep sleep...

Sweet dreams little angel...

Wishing you and your family the happiest of holidays...

Always,
Sprite

Naughty indeed!

Hi everyone! :)

Not the best pic, but good enough for a sneak peak? ;)

She's still a wip (still sewing her body here! ha ha) but at least she's got some hair! She wants to wear black, we were trying on some clothes not too long ago and she got very attached to this one. So much, that she wont let me take it off! We'll just have work around that ;) Wish me luck, please! hee hee

Our beginner group has our annual holiday ornament swap taking place at the moment, so I need to focus on those right now (fun!! :D) but hopefully she'll get finished in between. I'm excited to see where she's going :)

More and better pics soon!

Have a super~fantastic, creative and magical day everyone!

Thank you for visiting :)

Big hugs,
Sprite

A naughty little thing she is!

Well Hello there :)

It's been a while huh! My apologies!
If you're reading this... thank you for not giving up on me and for coming to visit! I haven't been very creative lately but at least my house is starting to look like one again :D Just in time for the holidays!

This is my newest wip, She's been a slooow progress but were getting there. I had pictured her quite different than how she is turning out so I kept getting stuck and ended up arguing with her over it, repeatedly!

I know they will always win, I'm just the hands that are bringing them out, right? ;) But, that doesn't mean it isn't frustrating!
(This is why deadlines for me, are good. No time to over think = not stuck!)
No wonder I have so many unfinished pieces! ha ha ha

Anyway, I put that naughty little thing in the corner for a while, in a "time out". I wasn't quite ready to fess up to her that she'd won but she'll find out later tonight when she gets the crazy hair she's been asking for. ;)

Hope everyone has been super!
Take care and stay well!

Again, thank you so much for stopping by.... :)

Luv n Hugs,
Sprite
